Message	do anything but make a cool sound? Then yeah, I'm wrong on that. They do serve a purpose for turbo'ed cars with no recirculation valves. However, my point was on Z's, they don't serve a beneficial purpose on Z's over the stock recirculation valves. I don't mean to cause trouble, I own your shifter and love it, as well as have a poster of your Z hanging over my bed.
